England line up with back four
Of course, as it’s a major tournament and as it’s England, there’s been an insane level of hype to deal with heading into the opening game.
The biggest talking point was how England coach Gareth Southgate would fit his plethora of attacking talents into a system that works for them.
Well, this is what Southgate has decided, going for a back four, including Luke Trippier at left back… yeah, that seems odd to me too. He did not play there at all for Atletico Madrid all year, and Luke Shaw is there, waiting on the bench…
No Jack Grealish either, but in sweltering conditions, perhaps his impact off the bench will be more important.
