Australia win silver medal in women’s beach volleyball, losing to USA in Tokyo Olympics final

Australian pair Taliqua Clancy and Mariafe Artacho del Solar have won a silver medal in the women’s beach volleyball, going down in the final to the USA pairing of Alix Klineman and April Ross.

A supreme serving performance set up the win for the Americans as they held off a brave Australia to win in straight sets.

The Americans came out firing early to lead by as much as eight points, eventually taking out the first set comfortably, 21-15.

Australia started better in the second set, winning the first two points, before the American pair charged again, winning the next 10 points straight.
