22 patient died: as Oxygen tank leaks in an Indian hospital

In a tragic incident, at least 22 COVID-19 patients who were on life support died due to severe oxygen deficiency after a large amount of gas leaked from an oxygen tanker at Dr. Zakir Hussain Hospital in Nashik.
Explaining the reasons for damaging a valve in the tanker, state health minister Rajesh Tope said the investigation into the incident was directed to investigate the matter of negligence.
According to sources, the accident took place around noon. Excessive leaks from the oxygen tank disrupted the vital oxygen supply for at least half an hour, resulting in the deaths of several patients on ventilator-assisted care.

A fire brigade team was taken to the scene to prevent the leak.
Of the 150 patients admitted to the hospital at the time of the incident, 23 were on ventilator assistance and the rest were on oxygen assistance, a senior city official said.
“According to current information, District Collector Suraj Mandhare told NDTV that total 22 people have died due to interruption of oxygen supply to Zakir Hussain Municipal Hospital”.

Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope said the interrupted supply was the cause of death. And he added that “The leak fell into the oxygen tank that was delivering oxygen to these patients,”.
In this bad time, this leakage brings a horror scene at the hospital.
