According to locals, eight people were shot dead and several others were seriously injured in a mass shooting at the FedEx facility Indianapolis on Thursday night.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Officer Genae Cook said that when officers arrived at the scene after 11 p.m. local time, they found the situation there was a state of active gunfire. “The alleged shooter has taken his own life,” the police officer said. Cook said it was difficult to say how many people were actually shot at the time and what their condition was, but most of the injured and critically injured were taken to a local hospital.
However, at least four seriously injured people were taken to the hospital and three critically injured people were also taken to the hospital. The police officer further said that the hospital has informed that several injured persons have walked-ins from that place. During a media briefing, Cook said it was a situation that was never desirable. Not much is known about the identity and purpose of the shooter. The name of the shooter also has not come out yet.
