Talking about the second season, Ehrin says that The Morning show season 2 will be a lot about the transition. By saying that, she made it clear that one direction that The Morning show will not take is getting political. The show will not indulge in current political topics.
In an interview, she says that she does not write the news. The Morning show isn’t that kind of show. When asked if a trump inspired character would get on-board for the second season, she says that they can’t do current politics. So, her idea is that if they are dealing with politics, they will deal with political themes. She calls it current adjacent. They will not historically age themselves dealing with something specific. However, they will also address what’s going on around them and the world.
Greta Lee And Ruairi O’Connor Are On-Board
Most of the cast, including Aniston, Witherspoon, and Crudup, among many, are coming back for The Morning Show Season 2. Along with that, fans will get to see some new faces in the upcoming season. The two confirmed new cast additions are Greta Lee and Ruairi O’Connor. Lee is coming in to play the character of Stella Bak. Bak is an ambitious leader of an online media company that tackles the Gen Z generation. O’Connor is coming in to play Ty Fitzgerald, who is a savvy YouTube star.
2021 Release Date!
The Morning Show Season 2 was renewed a week after the first season ended. The show was scheduled to release in November 2020. However now, it looks like plans have changed. The Morning Show season 2 had just got into production back in March 2020. The team could only get done with two episodes when everything was paused because of COVID-19, causing a delay in the release date.
A report by Deadline reveals that the show has resumed production in October and is expected to release in the first half of 2021 if everything goes as planned.
