Melbourne United crowned NBL champions after beating Perth Wildcats in grand final

Melbourne United has won its first NBL championship in three seasons after claiming victory over the Perth Wildcats in game three of the grand final series.

United, playing in front of a home crowd at Melbourne’s John Cain Arena, won 81-76 against the Wildcats, who were chasing a third consecutive championship.

The triumph followed United’s wins in the opening two games of the best-of-five series staged in Perth.

It is the franchise’s second NBL crown since it was re-branded as Melbourne United in 2014 and sixth overall in its storied history.
